The restless person can not always appreciate the surrounding beauty. Does not know how to hold joy, or be content in everything. There’s no capacity to hold anything else, to feel anything, to have anything else. Nothing distracts more than the restlessness in their soul, than the constant striving, and fretting towards that which they can not always control.
There is a numbness they can’t let go of, an insecurity they can’t bare to part with. The joy that only we can find once we let go of restlessness can not be taught, it must be dived into, in the depths of our being like a coral reef wanting to be explored. We don’t know exactly what will be down there but we must believe it holds beauty. It is the only way to approach the darkness deep in us. If we did not we surely would be overwhelmed by the task. Instead, look for beauty as you go, look for those signs of growth, or flourishing, look for those signs of hope as you go. For everything dark gets illuminated, and when it’s illuminated it brings light. So do not despise it. Do not despise the depths that you feel and see within yourself, or others, or the world. Instead, look for beauty as you go and bring illumination.
